Ultra-High Vacuum Suite for the nanofabrication and characterisation of 2D materials

Henniker and PREVAC are immensely honoured to have been involved in the supply of this groundbreaking UHV system for the nanofabrication and characterisation of 2D materials. The system combines a deposition module, scanning probe microscope module, and a unique core chamber for stacking of 2D materials. Each module is connected via a UHV tunnel which is capable of handling and transferring up to 15 samples.
Please take a look at the video produced by The Henry Royce Institute, which describes the unique research being undertaken.

To harness the power of these layered structures, scientists at the National Graphene Institute have created a world-first system – a bespoke Ultra High Vacuum Suite for the nanofabrication and characterisation of 2D materials. The suite has demonstrated a new horizon for the engineering of 2D and layered materials.
The next step is to analyse and exploit the potentially thousands of new materials that it can create.
We look forward to the research that will be produced using this cutting-edge system.
